Sierra de Guara
The union of rock, water and time has made the existence of numerous and spectacular canyons in the heart of the Sierra de Guara, which are the true protagonists in this natural Aragonese Park.
The amazing edges of the rocky cliffs have obtained unique and highly specialised plants as also are the species of fauna which are found in this, one of their ultimate refuges. The springs, the caves and ravines as also their construction and the humanised views also possess a high environmental and cultural value, and have been preserved thanks to their protected status.
Clear contrasts exist between the lands in Guara. While one finds in the southern part the vast Somontanos dominated by cultivation and woods of a Mediterranean character, in the northern parts there are large areas of natural woodland and ancient cultivated land, now abandoned. Undoubtedly, it is in the narrow and deep canyons where we can admire the most surprising views and characteristics of Guara.
